Our Team
Dr. Greg Skelton
Dr. Skelton was born and raised in Decatur. After graduating from Argenta-Oreana High School, he attended the University of Illinois. As an undergraduate, Dr. Skelton was the first manager of the Love at First Sight adoption center. At the U of I, he earned 2 bachelor’s degrees as well as his doctorate of veterinary medicine.
Dr. Skelton has been at Best Friends Vet Care since 2000 and purchased the practice in 2003. He works hard to foster the human-animal bond and enjoys helping pets through all stages of their life.

Patient Resources
In order to ensure that your visit is as swift as possible, please feel free to print and complete any of the following forms applicable to your visit. Arriving with all necessary paperwork greatly assists our staff in creating and updating your file while limiting your overall wait time.
We regret to inform our clients that, due to being unable to secure an after hours answering service and the dwindling amount of available veterinarians to answer emergency calls, we are no longer able to see patients after hours with emergencies.
We will be referring our patients to clinics who specialize in emergency situations in Springfield, Champaign, Bloomington and Savoy.
We have worked furiously to avoid this step with no success. We will continue to do our best to meet our clients and patients needs.
